I’m really excited to show you this new Google feature that is starting to appear in search results…
But first, I’ve got to give credit to the person that found it:
Our very own Jennie Austin.
She has an amazing talent for not only make sure our team stays on top of our work as our Project Coordinator, but also stays on top of what’s new and trending in the digital marketing space (a fast-paced, ever-changing environment).
Below you can see a screenshot of the new feature:
What you are seeing is a new box to the right that allows searchers to narrow their results by related keywords to their search query.
In the example above, the search query is assisted living veteran, and the related keywords to narrow the search by are:
- nursing home
- caregiver
- medicare
- senior housing
- health care
This is going to help the searcher better navigate through search results to find what they are looking for faster and with more accuracy.
“Assisted living veteran” begs a lot of questions. The biggest being, “what is this person looking for, exactly?” These quick keyword filters will be HUGE!
What does this mean for you?
It means, that as soon as you start seeing this feature appear, you should pay attention to the related keywords in that “See results that mention” box for keywords that you care about.
This information is telling of what you need to include in your website’s content. It will give you ideas to improve:
- Current web pages.
- Provide ideas for new content.
- Help you understand how Google views results and how they are ultimately trying to help the searcher (which is what you need to do as well).
Get started faster by making sure you have completed comprehensive keyword research and have started working on content templates.
