Today I’m talking about developing MVC (Minimum Viable Content).
I love starting things.
I have started at least a dozen business ideas in my life (I’m 33, so I’ve got more to go, I’m sure).
Most have failed because I didn’t validate them properly.
But I learned a ton that I’ve applied to the two I’m working on now that are successfully validated.
And one thing these two businesses owe a lot of their success to is implementing Minimum Viable Content.
Example: A website that I launched in 2019 now gets over 18,000 visitors per month and generated $20k+ in revenue last month because I used an MVC approach.
What is MVC?
Minimum viable content is an early, basic version of content on your website that meets the minimum requirements for being considered useful.
The content could be any type of URL – blog, service, product page, etc.
MVC isn’t necessarily bad, it just might not be:
- Complete
- Edited
- Grammatically correct
- Free of errors
But it exists on your site and it might just be useful to someone out there that finds it via search engines.
MVC can be a really good SEO strategy because it allows you to move fast and publish a lot of URLs that aim to eventually fulfill the intention of many searchers.
The goal is to just get it out there, then improve it over time as any of the URLs you’ve published start to get some visibility in search engines.
Your visibility in search engines is the early validation that you might just be able to attract the right people to your site.
So, here’s a quick getting started guide to MVC:
- Write and publish.
- Get it indexed in Google.
- See if it’s performing or getting visibility.
- If it is, improve it by editing, elaborating, etc.
