  • Type in your direct competitor’s website in SEMrush’s search bar
  • Search for your own website in SEMrush in a separate window
  • In both windows, scroll down to the Top Organic Keywords report
  • Export the results for both files
  • Compare the two lists side by side and see what’s currently on your competitor’s list but not on yours.

There’s your hit list. That’s where you close the gap.

📝 Output: Build with Intent

Every gap is an opportunity to create content that ranks, resonates, and converts.

Use tools like ChatGPT or other LLMs to identify the intent behind each keyword. Create comprehensive content that builds trust with those findings as your north star.

Go a step beyond filling the space. Add value. This will probably mean taking the time to create a new piece of content to add to your site.
