I’m going to show you how to make sure to immediately keep the attention of your website visitors to turn them into leads.
Have you ever done a Google search, clicked on a link, then spent 5.7 seconds on the site only to realize that page definitely won’t provide what you need?
Well, Google is paying attention to that.
Because if that happens to a lot of people on the same or very similar query (keyword) then it might be a signal that the page they are ranking is a dud.
So, how do you make sure that you aren’t creating pages on your site that people are immediately leaving?
Enter:ย Page Experience Thinking
That’s a term I just came up with. I don’t think it’s a thing. I Googled it and didn’t find any good results.
Page Experience Thinking
- You need to understand the motivations behind the people that come to your page.
- You need references to related content right at the top of the page.
- You need to organize your page well (table of contents, maybe) and make it clear, right away, that your page is well-organized (to provide the user with confidence that they can find what they need).
- You need to think about the “what’s next?” question in the visitor’s journey. Or ask yourself, “where do these visitors need to be led?” Consider the state they are in (could it be more informational, transactional, or either?)
Take your pages through this list and start to improve them.
