PreEmptive
We helped an app-protection company rebuild brand awareness after an acquisition. Now they pull 20,000+ organic users a month and 1,267 trial sign-ups this year.
Measured against the prior year in GA4, 2024. Organic search only.
A software company rebuilding its name after an acquisition
PreEmptive provides application protection tools for desktop, mobile, cloud, and IoT systems. Developers use them to harden code against reverse engineering and tampering.
Their main goal was more leads. But after an acquisition, brand awareness had to be rebuilt first, internationally as well as in the U.S., while moving upmarket from small businesses to enterprise buyers and introducing new products.
✓ We delivered.
Great product, quiet brand
An acquisition had reset their brand awareness. New products needed an audience, enterprise buyers needed convincing, and none of it was showing up in search.
Before — the problem
- ✕Post-acquisition awareness gap. The brand needed to be rebuilt in search, at home and internationally.
- ✕Leads and trials lagging. The main goal was more leads and trial sign-ups, and the site was not producing enough.
- ✕Wrong audience. Known to small businesses, but the growth plan was large enterprises.
- ✕New products, no visibility. Users had no way to discover the new products and services.
After — the fix
- ✓Content every month. Multiple pieces written monthly around what developers and buyers search.
- ✓Site optimized. Technical SEO, internal 404 corrections, and on-page cleanup. Now ranking for 1,500 keywords.
- ✓Conversion path tuned. CRO campaigns and UX/UI analysis pointed at trial sign-ups. 1,267 this year.
- ✓Awareness rebuilt. Brand awareness up substantially in the U.S. and improved globally versus last year.
