Our Web Lead

McCoy has a BFA in Digital Media-2D Animation from Kendall College of Art and Design. He has 12 years of experience in the field as a visual media production specialist. He is in this field because he loves to learn! He believes there’s a natural progression that happens when you get into graphic design and marketing. A lot of knowledge and skills are adjacent and lead easily between job descriptions.

He has a Hubspot Academy Growth-Driven Design Certification.

Some of the causes that he is passionate about and has been involved with are Kids Food Basket, the Mayor’s Grand River Cleanup, and Baxter Community Center.

What Does a Web Lead Do?

As the senior member of Avalanche’s web department, the Web Lead is the primary facilitator of the design and development of website projects. Whether it’s a new website or the improvement of an existing website, he is responsible for ensuring the project is brought to its completion. This might include connecting with the client to gather important information or materials necessary for the development process, interfacing with the development team to provide them with the tools necessary to get the job done, or doing some design and development work to supplement the team’s capacity as needed.

It’s all about user experience, and our Web Lead ensures that the content we publish on client websites provides a great experience for users, makes clients happy, and ultimately, gets us some results!

The Web Lead is the first person on the team to take a look under the hood of the website to understand how things are laid out in the content management system (CMS). From there, he will execute an audit of the user interface and user experience (UI/UX) that the rest of the team will collaborate to support and execute.
