How We Made Greenbrier’s Website More User-Friendly

The Greenbrier River Trail Association is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and improving the 78-mile Greenbrier River Trail in West Virginia through maintenance, fundraising, and community engagement. They needed a complete website overhaul to better engage visitors, grow their donor base, and make giving to their cause easy. Their existing site was functional but lacked a modern design, strong calls to action, and content.

Project Overview

Interactive Trail Experience

We created a Plan Your Visit page featuring an interactive map, a downloadable trail map, a mileage chart, and visitor resources like lodging, bike rentals, and shuttle services. Visitors can now easily plan their trip by having all the information they might need in one place. The interactive elements improve engagement, keeping users on the site longer and increasing the likelihood of donations and involvement.

Optimized Donation Flow

Since “Donate” was the primary call to action, we made the donation button more prominent and strategically placed it throughout the site. We also improved the way users can donate. Reducing friction throughout the donation process encourages more contributions, supporting the GRTA’s efforts to maintain and enhance the trail.

Content for SEO & Engagement

We upgraded their History page by adding a timeline module, a trail signs carousel, and more in-depth storytelling. We also expanded their blog and event pages to keep the site fresh with new content. The richer content improves search visibility, user engagement, and credibility,  ensuring the site remains an authoritative resource for trail visitors, donors, and volunteers.
