Why This Recipe Works
URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. It’s how people locate and share your website content. Be careful, though—if you change a URL, you may break a page, along with its existing links. Using a 301 redirect allows you to avoid broken pages and links. With a 301 redirect, you can indicate that a page has been permanently moved to a new URL.
