Green Side Up Landscaping

Green Side Up Landscaping has taken care of residential properties around Richmond and Williamsburg since 2004. Maintenance is the core of the business, and the work runs out from there into design, installation, planting, hardscaping, and landscape lighting across multiple counties. The leadership team even holds degrees in horticulture, turf management, and agronomy.

Craig Attkisson told us exactly what he wanted. He wanted a website that would make his $5M landscaping company look like a $10M one, so he could win bigger and more expensive clients. He also wanted the fewest possible clicks to book a meeting, and a site that pulled in crew as well as customers. Landscaping website design usually means stock photos of someone else’s yard. Craig had the photos. He needed a site to show them off.

Challenge

The old site made a high-end landscaping company look like a small one, buried what they do behind too many clicks, and gave a homeowner no easy way to book a meeting.

Strategy

We cleaned up the code, streamlined user paths, and redesigned the homepage to reflect their team's bold, modern vision.

Outcome

The homepage became the top-performing page for conversions almost immediately after launch, and Craig’s seen more reviews and better local engagement.

Key Features

Strategic design decisions that transformed their digital presence

Booking Made Simple

From Click to Calendar

Craig liked that his old site let a homeowner schedule a meeting. What he asked for what fewer steps to get there. We connected their calendars and CRMs so when a request comes in it reaches the right team for the service area.

No Need for New Design

New Pages, Same Template

Since launch we have added more than a dozen service pages, from synthetic turf and patio builders to drainage, irrigation, and lawn mowing. By creating a template on the back end, we can add new location pages with ease and GSU expands.

Instant Estimate Tool

A Price Before the Phone Call

We added an online estimator that gives homeowners a ballpark number without locking GSU into a price. This has become a lead source on its own with more than 200 completed estimates between March and July '26.

Design Strategy

Putting the work first and keeping the booking button within reach on every screen
Designed for Quality

They wanted a $5M company to read lke a $10M one, so the design borrows from hospitality rather than home services. Watercolor leaf illustrations, an editorial typeface pairing, and a lot of open space give the page the feel of a good restaurant menu rather than a stock truck and lawn look the industry defaults to.

Answering the Cost Question

The objection they hear most is that somebody cheaper will do the same work. Rather than hide from it, a pricing page and price estimator is in the main navigation and answers why GSU costs more. The conversation their sales team used to have on a first call now starts before the meeting is booked.

Ready Before the Meeting

A five-step moduel walks a homeowner from booking through to the finished yard, and a pre-meeting video asks them to think through budget before anyone drives out to look at the lot.
