Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely. We are proud to offer fully remote SEO jobs. As long as you bring your talent to the table, we don’t dictate where you work from. We have an office in Grand Rapids that is always available as a working space for team members, but there is no requirement that you come in. Avalanche has employees who live in Florida and New York. We stay in touch with weekly meetings, Slack messages, and Zoom calls.
Creative positions involve bouncing ideas off of teammates and receiving feedback. Our SEO specialists report to our SEO manager, and our content writers report to our content lead. Even among completely unrelated departments, communication is important. Every week, we discuss our work priorities, and we regularly have check-ins to make sure you have the tools you need to succeed.
In addition to wanting Avalanche to be a place of creativity and growth, we want those who are hired for our SEO jobs to have fun. Avalanche jobs allow workers to be themselves, share life updates with coworkers, and even share gossip about their latest reality TV fixation on Slack.
Each week, we have a random question to learn more about each other and have a weekly lesson taught by a team member that ranges in topics from 90s pop culture to SEO strategy.
Our Hiring Process
Review Applications
Our hiring team reviews applications for Avalanche careers and chooses promising candidates based on experience, industry knowledge, and willingness to learn. Applicants are asked to create a video introduction to tell us a bit about their background and the responsibilities they’ve had in previous roles.
Virtual Interview
We conduct a virtual interview at a time of your choosing that will fit your schedule. During this process, we gain a deeper understanding of you as a person, what drives your passions, and what your expectations of the role entail.
Sample Work Assignment
To make sure the relationship is a good fit for all parties involved, we have applicants complete a sample assignment related to the SEO job they applied for. For SEO specialist jobs, this might look like taking a quiz to evaluate your SEO knowledge. For content specialists, it will be writing a sample piece on a randomly selected topic.
Recommendations
In the final step of our hiring process for SEO jobs, we ask applicants to send us referrals. We then send those referrals a form to fill out with a few questions asking about their professional relationship with you, your strengths, and your work ethic. If the recommendations we receive contain positive feedback, we extend an offer to you and welcome you to the team!
